Vision: Not a series of separate events, but a coordinated, community-wide conversation about the role of discovery, creativity, and critical thinking in building a better future for all.
We know that no single discipline holds all the answers. STEAM fields are not silos; they are living ecosystems in which each domain strengthens and informs the others. When organizations across these sectors engage the public together, the result is far greater than the sum of the parts.
We have seen STEAM sectors engaging the public independently, but only reach their unique audiences. When they engage together, under a shared banner, during a shared period, with a shared commitment, they reach everyone.
The Month of STEAM is a dedicated, month-long period during which organizations across all sectors, academic, labs, cultural, nonprofit, government and private, open their doors, share their work, and actively engage the public in hand-on, inspiring experiences.
Participating organizations in the 2026 Month of STEAM will commit to:
* Hosting at least one public-facing event, workshop, demonstration, or open house during the month.
* Promote the Month of STEAM brand and mission through their own communication channels.
* Collaborate across STEAM disciplines to reflect the interconnected nature of modern innovation.
* Welcome participants of all ages and experience levels.
The information below will tell the planning committee to support a common calendar, produce graphic assets, social media blurbs, a blog, and provide creativity support.
By completing this form, the organization/individual confirms that their agreement to participate in the 2026 Month of STEAM in good faith, uphold the values of community learning, and cross-sector collaboration, and adhere to a family-friendly participation framework provided by the organizing committee.
